+99 FREE ART OBJECTS – Ahmed Shawky Hassan

Cairo Gallery invites you to the opening of the solo exhibition “+99 FREE ART OBJECTS” by Ahmed Shawky Hassan, at 6:00 PM Tomorrow Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at 11 Kamel Mohamed St., Zamalek, Ground Floor.
The exhibition runs until Thursday, November 27, 2025.

In this exhibition, Ahmed Shawky Hassan explores transformations in visual memory between the era of the nation-state and the digital knowledge society, reflecting on how memory and power intertwine as knowledge shifts from national encyclopedias to open digital archives.

Through collages from Encyclopedias of World Art supervised by Tharwat Okasha in the 1960s and 3D-printed sculptures from open online archives, narratives of national enlightenment meet the algorithmic logic of the market, where artwork becomes model, memory becomes data, and beauty becomes consumption.

“+99 Free Art Objects” stands at the threshold between free knowledge and cognitive capitalism, tracing a present where collective visual imagination is reshaped through replication and recycling.
