ElSet Fouq Elras – Taha El Korany – Opening

Villa Azad is proud to present a new solo exhibition by Egyptian artist Taha El Korany.
For the first time in his acclaimed Above the Head series, El Korany turns to Um Kulthoum …the unrivaled voice of the Arab world. From a bird’s-eye perspective, his canvases capture not only her commanding presence on stage but the full scene around her: the orchestra, the musicians, the atmosphere of collective memory.
